Primary Bedroom Retreat
A repeat client was ready to refresh her primary bedroom. Like other spaces in her home, the goal was to reuse a few heirloom-quality pieces she already owned and build a peaceful, pulled-together retreat.
We started with what was staying: a vintage, high-quality, nearly wall-to-wall wool rug, and a vintage Kipp Stewart lowboy dresser. The client wanted to keep the king-sized headboard, so we made that a goal to stretch their budget for other higher-priced items.
A local vintage reseller came through with a highboy and pair of nightstands to work with the existing lowboy. We updated the walls and trim with soft white paint, and added subtle texture behind the bed with flax-colored grass cloth.
A Cezanne-inspired vintage oil painting, sourced from a local estate sale, works well with their previously-owned pieces to give life to the neutral walls.
